Soldiers Memorial Military Museum's Case for LEED & TRUE

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Angela Moore, LEED AP O+M, TRUE Advisor and Facilities and Sustainability Coordinator at the Missouri Historical Society will be presenting on the renovation of Soldiers Memorial Military Museum and the Missouri Historical Society's zero-waste practices. Renovating with sustainable building design principles of the LEED v2009 NC rating system the Soldiers Memorial Military Museum emphasized reuse of existing materials and recycling demolition materials. After achieving LEED Gold for the Soldiers Memorial Military Museum, the Missouri Historical Society had a greater understanding of the importance of material reuse to achieve TRUE (Total Resource Use and Efficiency) Gold certification, with an overall diversion rate of 90%.
