On *THURSDAY*, October 8th @ 10 am, ROSS HUNT will discuss activities of the Missouri Sierra Club Political and Legislative Committees. Ross Hunt is Chair of the Political Committee at the MO Sierra Club. He's lived mostly in Missouri, holds an MBA from Missouri State, retired from USDA food programs after 21 years and has been concerned about climate change sine the mid-1960's (then known as the "greenhouse effect").
The Sierra Club is the largest grassroots environmental organization in the USA, reaching all 50 states and Canada, with over 10,000 members in Missouri and a much larger supporter list. The Sierra Club addresses democracy issues, voter access, environmental racism, differential impacts of pollution on minority communities, and more! The MO Sierra Club tracks legislative records of state level legislators on scorecards (simply Google, "MO Sierra Club legislative scorecard").
The MO Sierra Club also lobbies the Missouri legislature on a variety of issues: conservation, air and water pollution, climate, renewable energy, regulation of CAFO's (Confined animal feeding operations), public lands and parks, and more. They also participate in the Missouri Clean Energy Coalition as a 501c3, 501c4, and with a PAC.
