Arielle Wright
Education & Community Engagement Coordinator at Urban Harvest
Arielle learned of the crucial role local food systems play in promoting food sovereignty during her time as a graduate student at Washington University in St. Louis. Her research focused on community-based systems of supporting and feeding those in need. She is a passionate educator who believes in the power of hands-on learning to connect individuals of all ages and backgrounds to the natural world. She joined UrbanHarvest STL to be part of the movement to reclaim the power of accessible nutritious food from a commercial system that does not meet the needs of all. She grew up gardening with her family and in the past 5 years has re-committed to learning about organic food production in community networks here in St. Louis.
