BIT Building Case Studies
Lessons learned from the first certified projects

We're offering FREE registration in celebration of National Energy Efficiency Day!

BIT is a building performance improvement program for existing buildings encouraging the adoption high-performance best practices.

Launched in 2018, with the first certified project being award in December 2019, BIT contains 16 industry best practices that are cost-effective, practical and effective. It is structured to enable building operators to participate on their own schedules and within their own budgets, and offers third-party recognition for improvements.

Learn how diverse portfolios within the US and internationally are using BIT to drive facility-level continuous improvement as we explore lessons learned from the first certified projects.

  • Describe the 16 O&M best practices covered by the BIT Building framework
  • Explain the relationship between BIT and other sustainability tools, such as Energy Star and GRESB
  • Consider the role of building-level certifications in achieving corporate and portfolio sustainability goals
  • Prioritize implementation of green O&M strategies that are aligned with budgeting and contracting cycles
