This session will explore the first step for reducing energy consumption of a building: reducing energy loads.
Presenters will highlight energy simulation as a design tool and key to successfully implementing EA Credit 1.
- Recognize energy load reduction techniques that support energy efficient building design and help earn credits under LEED-NC : EA Credit 1.
- Assess opportunities for integrating energy modeling at initial design stages, decision making, and planning process.
- Evaluate the pros and cons of energy modeling as a design tool for complying with LEED criteria.
- Discuss cost impact of load reduction measures by evaluating case-specific examples.
