Growing Green: A Green Building Showcase

The 2017 Green Building Showcase will feature buildings from several different green building rating systems.

We will get the inside story on the following projects:

  • HOK will share insight from a gap analysis they have recently performed on their St. Louis office space, currently pursuing LEED v4 for Commercial Interiors.  The analysis details measures needed to take the building from where it currently stands to achieve the preconditions and optimizations needed for WELL Building Certification.

  • UNIGROUP will detail the progress they have made throughout their participation in the 25×20 Energy Benchmarking Challenge, including an exploration of how their building earned Energy Star Certification.

  • Green Street St. Louis will update attendees on the progress being made on a major renovation for the LEED certification of The Armory District.

Flance Learning Center opened to students in June 2014, and aims to be an exemplary early
learning center, serving children of all incomes and backgrounds, six-weeks to six-years of age in a new, $11.5 million facility. The center’s design team placed heavy emphasis on ensuring that indoor and outdoor spaces were resource-efficient, free of toxins, healthy for students, comfortable for teachers, and cost-effective.  In recognition of this emphasis on health and environmental
sustainability, Flance Center is registered to become only the 4th LEED for Schools Certified
Preschool in the world.   Universal Design features are also incorporated to create a convenient
experience for staff and students, regardless of physical ability, thereby creating an environment in which special-needs and typical-needs children can thrive side-by-side in the same classrooms.
