  • Have experience with ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager? Assist building representatives to benchmark their energy use!

November 30
Benchmarking Jam

Energy benchmarking is the process of measuring how much energy your building consumes, and comparing your energy performance to similar buildings. Benchmarking is the first step toward saving energy and money!

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager is an online, interactive energy management tool that allows you to measure and track your building’s energy and water consumption, identify investment priorities, and verify improvements over time.

Get hands-on assistance using the free, online ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager tool at the upcoming Benchmarking Jam! All buildings benefit from benchmarking: businesses, schools, congregations, non-profits and local governments are encouraged to attend.

In order for this event to be a success, each building representative should bring:
  • Laptop or Tablet
  • The building street address, year built, and contact information.
  • Gross Floor Area (square feet)
  • Energy Use Data
    • Attendees will need at least 12 consecutive months of utility bills for all fuel types used in the building. Bring the number of units of each energy type used, not just the dollar amount of the utility fee.
    • Historical energy use data can be downloaded on the Ameren Missouri and Laclede Gas websites with an online account.
    • Ameren Missouri and Laclede Gas have offered to provide Benchmarking Jam attendees with their historical energy use data. Scroll down to see the information you must provide to receive assistance. Requests are due to Johanna Schweiss by 11:59 pm on Sunday, November 20th.
